School Incursions
Bringing the Farm to Your Classroom!
The Green Thumb School Incursion Program is designed to bring the magic of our organic community farm directly into your classroom!
Our incursion is all about helping children build a real connection to where their food comes from, encouraging healthier choices, environmental awareness, and a sense of wonder. Through sensory exploration, creative thinking, and scientific enquiry, students will engage with fresh produce in a way that’s meaningful and memorable.
- You choose the program: Exploring Herbs, Farm to Fork, or Living Soils
- Includes items to keep in the classroom and take home
- Each program is hands on and interactive
- Content adapted to meet the learning outcomes of students from prep to year 6

During the booking, you choose one of our three programs:
🌿 Exploring Herbs
Students can explore herbs and their varying uses, discovering the wide range of culinary and medicinal benefits. We look at native and non native herbs and how you can grow herbs at home. Students receive propagated herbs to grow in the classroom along with samples of herbs that they can dry and use.
🌱 Farm to Fork Journey
Students map out the journey that food takes as it travels from farm to fork in varying situations. We consider environmental and sustainable considerations, the differences between organic and non organic foods and the health benefits of eating fresh food. Students get to plant a pot of microgreens to grow at school or home.
🥕 Living Soils
Students dive into soil exploration, record their findings and make predictions. We discover what makes great soil and how we can turn all soils into great soil for growing. Students make a liquid fertiliser from plants that they can watch over the coming weeks as it develops. This can then be used at school or at home.
Our school incursion cancellation policy requires schools to provide a written notice of cancellation at least 14 days before the scheduled incursion date to receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 7 to 13 days prior to the incursion will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Unfortunately, no refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 7 days before the excursion. Exceptions to this policy may be considered in cases of extreme weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances at the discretion of the administration. We reserve the right to cancel the excursion if conditions are deemed unsafe, with a full refund provided.
