Our Early Learning Incursions are designed to spark curiosity and fun about how food is grown, and how we all can compost and help make our soil super healthy (with a few worms of course!)
During the session, children will be guided by our experienced facilitators to:

Booking Green Thumb Farm to visit your Early Learning Centre is simple:
Booking Green Thumb Farm to visit your Early Learning Centre is simple:

Who: Children aged 3–5 years

When: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10am – 11 am. Start time can be adjusted to suit your needs.

What: Interactive sessions including storytelling, sensory exploration, and hands-on gardening activities

Price: $550 + GST per session (up to 25 children). Additional children $15 each, up to a maximum of 30.

Additional groups at the same site, on same date: $150 per session (also up to 25 children). Perfect for centres wishing to offer the incursion to multiple rooms!

Where: At your Early Learning Centre in Moreton Bay or across the wider Brisbane area. Depending on your centre’s location, a small additional transportation fee may apply. Please enquire when booking.
Our experienced educators will lead a 60-minute interactive session. During your booking, choose which topic you want us to explore:
OPTION A | 🪱 Wiggly Worm Farm Discovery
Theme: Composting, soil health & the magic of worms
Worms are the wriggly heroes of the garden! In this hands-on session, children explore how worms help grow healthy plants by turning food scraps into rich compost.
Includes:
- Fun interactive story: Wiggly the Worm Saves the Garden
- Live worm exploration — touch and observe compost worms
- “Feed the Worms” game — learn what worms can (and can’t!) eat
- Take-home activity sheet & colouring-in page
Supports sustainability learning, fine motor skills & curiosity about nature.
OPTION B | 🌱 Seed-to-Plate: Planting Edible Pots
Theme: Growing food, healthy eating & caring for living things
This sensory-rich activity helps children connect with where their food comes from. Children explore real herbs and plant their very own edible seedling to take home.
Includes:
- Fun interactive story: Tilly the Tiny Seed
- Guided herb smelling & touching session (mint, basil, parsley...)
- Each child plants an easy to grow edible seed in a biodegradable pot
- Take-home tip sheet & colouring in page
Great for healthy eating education, hands-on learning & joyful discovery.

Convenient: We bring all materials and set up at your centre, making it hassle-free for you. Materials and resources provided by Green Thumb Farm include:
- Live worms, worm farm container, and props
- Herbs, seedlings, soil, pots, compost, watering cans
- Visuals, games, and take-home sheets
To secure your preferred date, use the calendar below on this page to enter:
1. Number of children (base group): Enter how many children will participate in the field “Groups from 15 to 25”. The base package is $550 and covers up to 25 children.
2. Additional children: If your group has more than 25 children (up to a maximum of 30), enter the number of extra children in the field “Child”. A fee of $15 per additional child applies.
3. Multiple groups at the same site/date: If you would like to book more than one group on the same date at the same site, enter the number of extra groups in the field “Additional sessions same site”. A fee of $150 applies for each additional group.
• If any additional group has more than 25 children, also enter the number of extra children in the “Child” field.
• Each group may have a maximum of 30 children.
4. Confirm booking: Press the BOOK NOW button and complete the form. While completing the form, you will be asked to choose between the Wiggly Worm Farm Discovery and Seed-to-Plate: Planting Edible Pots programs. For more information about each program, check out the question "What to Expect" above.
No payment is required at this step. An invoice will be issued after your incursion, based on your total number of participants.
Unfortunately, no refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 7 days before the excursion. Exceptions to this policy may be considered in cases of extreme weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances at the discretion of the administration. We reserve the right to cancel the incursion if conditions are deemed unsafe, with a full refund provided.
