Our Early Learning Centre Excursion Program is a story-based, hands-on exploration with nature, designed to inspire curiosity and wonder.
Guided by passionate and qualified Farm Educators, kids will experience:
- A story theme that is interwoven into the day with lots of active participation
- Being able to explore and engage with the workings of the farm
- Play based experiences
- Take-home activity that invites growing at home
- Building upon knowledge of growing edible foods
- Building upon knowledge of sustainable practices
Our Farm Educators create a flexible learning environment that adapts to the needs of each student group, making every visit unique and impactful.
With our naturally inspiring location and the many spontaneous learning opportunities that arise, students gain deep, memorable insights that can be built on back in the classroom.
Booking an Excursion to the Green Thumb Farm is simple:
Booking an Excursion to the Green Thumb Farm is simple:
- Who: Children aged 3–5 years. Perfect for kindergartens, early learning centres & play-based programs!

When: Week days, 10am to 1pm (3 hours), during school terms. Start time can be adjusted to suit your needs.

Price: $550 + GST per session (up to 25 children). Additional children $15 each, up to maximum of 30. Price includes:

Where: At Green Thumb Farm: 2204 Mt Samson Rd, Samford Valley, Qld, 4520. Free parking for cars and buses onsite.
Our experienced educators will lead a 3 hour session that includes:

Children and adults will need to bring with them
- Enclosed shoes suitable for walking around the farm on uneven surfaces
- Sun hat, sunscreen and insect repellent
- Wet weather jacket if rain is forecast
- Sun smart clothing
- Water bottles, morning tea and lunch
- Other items that may be needed for individuals such as medication
To secure your preferred date, use the calendar below and inform:
1. Number of children (base group): Enter how many children will participate in the field “Groups from 15 to 25”. The base package is $550+GST and covers up to 25 children.
2. Additional children: If your group has more than 25 children (up to a maximum of 30), enter the number of extra children in the field “Child”. A fee of $15+GST per additional child applies.
3. Confirm booking: Press the BOOK NOW button and complete the form.
No payment is required at this step. An invoice will be issued after your incursion, based on your total number of participants.
Unfortunately, no refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 7 days before the excursion. Exceptions to this policy may be considered in cases of extreme weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances at the discretion of the administration. We reserve the right to cancel the excursion if conditions are deemed unsafe, with a full refund provided.
