Our Impact

Making an Impact in People and Planet

Green Thumb Farm responds to the most pressing challenges of our time: the climate crisis, rising food insecurity, and declining community health. These challenges are deeply interconnected, and so are our solutions.

Our Approach

We take a practical, community-based approach to systemic change. By creating opportunities for people to see, learn, and do, we make sustainable food systems tangible, inclusive, and achievable. We do this through:

  • Demonstration: A working farm grounded in regenerative and sustainable principles.

  • Education: Hands-on programs for children, families, schools, and corporate groups.

  • Support: Practical workshops and emerging community composting initiatives.

Growing a Healthier Future

Since 2024, we've welcomed over 2,500 people through our gates to learn and connect:

1,600+ School & Early Learning Students

Cultivating the next generation of environmental stewards by providing hands-on education in regenerative agriculture and biodiversity for primary-aged children across SEQ.

222+ Little Green Thumbs Families

Nurturing a lifelong connection to nature for our youngest community members (0–5 years). Having delivered over 2,400 cumulative nature-play experiences, our program fosters early environmental awareness through nature exploration, and hands-on discovery.

515+ Corporate Professionals

Immersive team-building days that contribute tangible labor toward our farm's health while teaching corporate professionals the value of seasonal, sustainable food systems.

300+ Weekly Farmgate Families

Strengthening local food security and reducing food miles by providing fresh, nutrient-dense produce directly from our Samford Valley soil to the tables of over 300 local households every Saturday.

80+ Workshop Participants

Empowering our community with practical, regenerative skills, from home composting to seasonal organic gardening, to turn backyard spaces into productive, climate-resilient ecosystems.

50+ Dedicated Volunteers
