Volunteer at

Green Thumb Farm

Get your hands dirty and your heart full — become a volunteer at Green Thumb Farm!

Whether you’re a passionate grower, a total beginner, or just looking for a way to give back, volunteering with us is a hands-on way to support local food, learn new skills, and connect with nature and community.

💚 Can I Volunteer with Green Thumb Farm?

Absolutely! We are always looking for new community members to join our team.  Our volunteers are the heart of Green Thumb Farm. By committing your time, even if just a few hours a month, you help us grow more food, run our community programs, and keep our farm thriving. In return, you’ll enjoy great perks, meaningful experiences, and the satisfaction of making a real impact.

How Can I Get Involved?

Joining our team is a simple three-step process:

  1. Apply: Click the "Apply to be a volunteer" button below and fill out a quick interest form.

  2. Induction: You will receive an email with a link to our Online Induction Program. Grab a cup of tea or coffee, it takes about 30 mins and covers all you need to know about how the farm operates.

  3. Safety Check: To keep our community safe, all volunteers aged 18+ must hold a Blue CardDon’t have one? No problem! We will guide you through the process, and as a GTF volunteer, you can apply for one free of charge.

Once your induction and Blue Card details are sorted, you’ll be invited to book your first session. One of our regular volunteers will meet you to show you the ropes and make sure you feel right at home.

👩‍🌾 Volunteer Roles at Green Thumb Farm:

We prefer a regular commitment of weekly, fortnightly or monthly. You don't need any prior gardening experience. As long as you are eager to learn, happy to get your hands dirty, and ready to share a laugh (and some produce!) with a friendly community, you are more than welcome. We provide onboarding and on-the-job training.
