Volunteer with Us
Be Part of Something Beautiful!
Whether you’re a passionate grower, a total beginner, or just looking for a way to give back, volunteering with us is a hands-on way to support local food, learn new skills, and connect with nature and community.
We welcome people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds to volunteer at the gardens or at the Saturday Market. Green Thumb Farm is a place where everyone can participate in a way that works for them, with support available where needed.

Learn More About Volunteering at Green Thumb Farm:
Absolutely! We are always looking for new community members to join our team.
Our volunteers are the heart of Green Thumb Farm. By committing your time — even just a few hours a month — you help us grow more food, run our community programs, and keep our farm thriving.
We recognise that people may participate in different ways, including with the support of a carer, support worker, or family member. Our volunteer induction process can be completed independently or with assistance, ensuring it is accessible and inclusive for people with diverse learning and support needs.
In return, you’ll enjoy meaningful hands-on experiences, opportunities to learn and connect, and the satisfaction of contributing to a community that is growing something bigger together.
Joining our team is a simple three-step process:
-
Apply: Click the "Apply to be a volunteer" button below and fill out a quick interest form.
-
Induction: You will receive an email with a link to our Online Induction Program. Grab a cup of tea or coffee, it takes about 30 mins and covers all you need to know about how the farm operates.
-
Safety Check: To keep our community safe, all volunteers aged 18+ must hold a Blue Card. Don’t have one? No problem! We will guide you through the process, and as a GTF volunteer, you can apply for one free of charge.
Once your induction and Blue Card details are sorted, you’ll be invited to book your first session. One of our regular volunteers will meet you to show you the ropes and make sure you feel right at home.
