Our Grant Donors
Green Thumb Farm is a not-for-profit organisation and our partners and grant donors are key to enabling us to continue to grow and create new programs for the benefit of the community.
We are deeply grateful for this support of the organisations who partner with us, which allows us to create an enriching space and give back to our community. Your contributions enable us to expand our educational programs, improve accessibility, and foster sustainable practices. Thank you for partnering with us in our mission to inspire and connect people through the joy of growing and eating local, seasonal food.
Support from the City of Moreton Bay continues to play an important role in strengthening Green Thumb Farm. Current funding through Activities Grants is helping us deliver our Gather & Grow workshop series and progress key capacity-building initiatives across our operational systems. In addition, a recent Support Grant has enabled us to purchase essential materials and equipment needed to maintain a safe, productive, and welcoming community farm. We are sincerely grateful for this assistance and the positive impact it has on our programs and community engagement.
Support from the Samford Community Bank has contributed to the establishment of our irrigation system and enabled us to purchase equipment for our schools program, including a shade marquee for school groups, rugs, and a native beehive. We are deeply grateful for their generous support, which has played a crucial role in enhancing our educational initiatives and facilities.
We are proud to have the support of the Health and Wellbeing Queensland to deliver the Growing for Life program. This specialized 10-week wellbeing and gardening initiative is designed specifically for students with diverse learning needs. Set in a safe, outdoor environment, the program allows students to plant, nurture, and enjoy their own harvest while learning essential skills in organic growing, composting, and propagation. Funded through the Health and Wellbeing Community Grants 2026, this program helps participants build physical confidence and a deeper connection to healthy food choices.
Support from the Queensland Government, through the Department of Justice and Attorney-General, has been instrumental in improving our farm’s infrastructure. Funding from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund enabled the purchase and installation of a new cold room. This essential facility allows us to store our farm-grown produce safely and reduce food waste, directly supporting our Saturday farmgate market and enhancing the long-term sustainability of our operations.
Support from the Samford Edible Garden Trail has been invaluable in helping establish Green Thumb Farm and laying the foundations for our education program. Their recent $4,000 contribution is now supporting the development of our new schools garden, strengthening our capacity to deliver hands-on learning experiences for local students. We are deeply grateful for their continued generosity and belief in our educational mission.
Support from the Brisbane Airport Corporation has provided funding for our Schools Program. We are deeply grateful for their contribution, which has been essential in enhancing our educational initiatives for students across the wider Brisbane area.
We are honored to receive support from the Johnson Ohana Foundation, founded by Jack and Kim Johnson to support environmental, art, and music education. Their donation will fund the installation of a new industrial-scale worm system at Green Thumb Farm later in 2026. This project significantly boosts our on-site composting capacity, allowing us to turn organic waste into nutrient-rich fertilizer for our gardens while teaching our community about the vital role of soil biology in a healthy food system.
