Green Thumb Farm is seeking a reliable, hands-on Farmgate Market Manager to lead our weekly Saturday Farmgate Market.
This is a practical, on-the-ground leadership role responsible for setting up and running the market each week — from early morning bump-in through to pack-down. You’ll supervise the market support team, coordinate volunteers, and ensure our farm stalls (produce and bakery) are set up and running smoothly.
We’re looking for an energetic and super-organised Farmgate Manager who will take ownership of our Saturday market in Samford Valley (2204 Mt Samson Rd), coordinating volunteers, stallholders, and daily operations. There is potential for the role to expand mid-week to include ordering and coordination of market merchandise. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is organized, reliable, and passionate about community, education, and sustainability.
- Lead weekly market setup from approx. 6:00am
- Supervise and direct the Market Support Team during setup and pack-down
- Coordinate and support volunteers throughout the morning
- Ensure Green Thumb Farm stalls (produce and bakery) are set up, stocked, and ready for trade
- Oversee the smooth operation of the market across the morning
- Respond to and resolve any on-the-ground issues as they arise
- Manage pack-down and site reset at close (approx. 12:00pm)
- Complete light weekly prep (1–2 hours), including basic coordination with the team
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple moving parts
- A calm, practical approach to problem-solving
- Confidence supervising teams and giving clear direction
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- Willingness to work early mornings and outdoors
- An interest in community, sustainability, and local food systems

Saturdays 6-9am | Samford Valley, QLD
We’re looking for enthusiastic and reliable teenagers (minimum 15 years old) to join our Farmgate Market Support team. This role is hands-on and involves helping set up the Saturday market, assisting with farm tasks, and supporting the smooth running of the market and nursery activities.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Market setup: erecting marquees, moving tables, and bringing produce to stalls
- Farm tasks: planting, harvesting, and garden bed maintenance
- Sales support: assisting at the bakery or other market stalls
- Follow OHS workplace safety rules at all times
- Work independently once trained and follow instructions carefully
- Work as part of a team to ensure the market and farm run smoothly
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is enthusiastic, reliable, and keen to learn
- Can follow instructions carefully and work independently when trained
- Works well in a team and communicates respectfully
- Is willing and able to do physical work including lifting and carrying
- Is interested in learning about farming, gardening, and sustainability
